Samuel Fernandez: “I want to make the most of these opportunities”

March 9 th 2025 - 16:19

“First of all, I want to dedicate this combativity award to my grandma, my family and my friends. I’m really happy. To be there is a dream. It wasn’t planned, the team called me last minute to replace a teammate with an illness. I knew there was something to do today and in the end every effort gets a reward. I’m feeling really good at the moment. And when the head is going well, the legs come along. This is my second WorldTour race, after the Volta a Catalunya last year, and I want to make the most of these opportunities to improve, become a better rider and go as far as possible. I’m not sure what I can do for the rest of the week, sometimes I just follow my instinct… I’m a climber, I prefer the longer climbs but I can also handle myself in small groups. I want to enjoy… And make more breaks.”
