Brandon McNulty: “I wasn’t expecting to be in the jersey”

"For sure we have a good team but I wasn’t expecting to be in the jersey at all so it’s special. It was a hard day with a heavy start on typically French roads with lot of ups and downs and not very fast but when we came into town it was really fast so we never had any recovery time. It was really tough but we rode perfectly. We would have loved to have one or two more riders in the fast section but five was enough so that was good. We have Joao as our main leader and quite a few good climbers. I don’t know how good I am because I was a bit sick after the UAE Tour. We’ll see tomorrow.”
